The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad conducted consular missions in Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan on 2 and 21June 2013 respectively.
Consul Conrado Demdem led the consular team which included Helen Firme-Subido (ATN Officer), Salmineo de Castro (Passport Officer), Rea Quimio (Cultural Officer), Ermie-Tangan (Visa Officer) and Billy Aguilar.
The holding of the consular services was hosted by the Filipino community in Lahore and Karachi with the active support of the Philippine Honorary Consuls in these cities.
The consular team provided passport, assistance-to-nationals (ATN), registration of birth and marriages and other consular services. The team also met with the officers of the Filipino community to discuss activities that will foster Filipino solidarity and advance Philippine interests in Pakistan.
In Karachi, the consular services coincided with a series of activities hosted by the Filipino community led by Ms. Adel Khan, a Filipino married to a Pakistani national and serving as the leader of the Filipino association in Karachi. These activities were highlighted by the Filipino sports tournament, parlor games, a thanksgiving mass and a cultural program to commemorate Philippine independence day. Ambassador Domingo Lucenario, Jr. and Philippine Honorary Consul Vaqar Mohammad also graced the occasion.
In Lahore, the PH Embassy provided consular services at the Office of Philippine Honorary Consul Rizwan Fareed. The activity also coincided with the hosting by the Filipino Association in Lahore led by Mr. Leoncio Siozon and Ms. Maria Alvi Atiq of a cultural program celebrating the 115th Philippine Independence Day at the Pearl Inter-continental Hotel. Ambassador Domingo Lucenario, Jr. and the Punjab Governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood were the main guests of honor. END
